Guatemala | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4)
Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.
The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.
The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

If your are new to solera rums, this is a safe choice. If your use to them, this should be a standard on your shelf. On the sweeter side, and I guess there are additives in it, but who cares? If it is tasty it is tasty.
The flavor is good but not the way that they add it to the bottle.
It has a round taste with some elements of almond and molasses. Too sweet for me, but if you like a round and sweet rum this may be a good candidate!
A good regular rum, a bit too sweet. The rum is for starters, with not much experience in rum tasting.
Duft

En god all around rum, ikke for fed, ej for sød og med sin 40% alkohol glider den ubesværet ned.
Pris
Fornuftig
Indeholder
Karamel, honning, sirup, chokolade, røget og modne frugter.
, aroma, body, taste, finish, spice, smoothness… really anything you want! You can also share an optional picture of the drink (or better still - you enjoying it!) by attaching a photo below.
One of the most reviewed rums out there, full of notes of smoothness and sweetness... well the bottle I tasted must have been spoiled because I did not feel the smoothness ( similar to a "normal" 12 year old rum ) and it was not so sweet in the existing notes.
Very over rated... but this is my Humble opinion ofcourse
For 5 years ago it was tasting better, to much of the younger rum now.

Solo sufficiente costa di più del diplomatico riserva exclusiva ed è meno buono
Actually quite dry and oaky.
"Flavour builds if you leave the rum in your mouth for a little longer allowing it to coat the palate."
Wonderfully intricate with honeyed butterscotch, spiced oak and raisined fruit...

Decanted, the rum displays a surprising body in the glass for something so apparently light, and has slow and strong legs down the side of the glass.
