United States | Spiced | 35% ABV
Launched in 2011, Bacardi Oakheart is the newest addition to the extensive Bacardi collection.
This spiced rum is aged for 1 to 2 years, filtered using a proprietary process, and then flavored with various spices including maple, nutmeg, cinnamon and honey.
Bacardi Oakheart took over two years to name and more than 2700 names were considered. The winner, Oakheart, is a reference to the charred American white oak barrels that house the rum while it ages.

It was next to whatever non-spiced rum i wanted to buy (both in 1.75l "handles"). This wound up in my cart somehow instead of the other one (cheap bacardi gold unflavored, I think). I'd rate the gold a 5. This was as 'meh' only with the addition of some cheap spice flavor that I didn't care for, so it's at best a '4'. Barcardi is a turd of a rum distillery. I learned this on a tour in San Juan. Avoid that tour; it's garbage.
Drink goed weg, prima voor mix maar soms te kruidig voor puur

Nothing really interesting with this rum, there are not many good spiced rum anyway, but this one is definitively not a good one
Nice rum for every day use good for cuba libre all i all nice rum
This rum with pepsi is my favorite drink in a bar! KEEP THEM COMING!
Best for a budget rum and coke or cuba libre, nice oaky flavour, dried fruits and vanilla.
The best room I drunk so far. Very disappointed that it is discontinued in Ireland. Good taste , smooth, spiced , you can drink with almost every combination- coke , cranberry juice , or on its own
Ok, I get it; you do not like to drink a rum from such a huge company, because most people drinking it most likely don’t understand/appreciate a proper rum. But if you give it a try; mixed with cola it is just seriously good.

I have not been a fan of the Bacardi line up. After some bad advertising and being led to believe their Spiced was the same.
On the nose, I get a citrusy vanilla combo. But the taste is pleasantly better! A brief spice note gives way to citrus followed by vanilla and a honey note.
'oak barrels to impart a rich and smoky taste'
"Bacardi Oakheart rum review by The Ultimate Rum Shack"
Smooth but it is also very sweet.
"There's a slight burn of alcohol and the spicing is maybe just a bit too much. There is also a slightly jarring aftertaste. It’s a bit smoky and oily."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

It has decent balance of spices and light oak flavour and not as sweet as some spiced rums like captain morgan spiced gold. But still quite a lot of added sugar as most generic spiced rums have.
You could sip this , even though it isnt anything special. You taste the spices and sugar, has light amount of charred oak in the taste which is good. Sugary smoothness.
Good mixer for cuba libres, excellent in hot cocktails.
