Bacardi 8 rum

had this rum recently

United States | Aged | 40% ABV

Bacardi 8-Year is a blended rum, filtered using the Bacardi-pioneered charcoal filtering system and aged for eight years.

This rum was not released to the public until 1995, when the first limited edition Bacardi 8 was sold with a sherry oak finish in a Baccarat crystal decanter. Despite a price tag of $400 per bottle, the rum was hugely popular and led to the larger release of the blend without the collectors' features and price.

Good taste, not one of my favorites. Still worth trying it!

Just bought one, I didnt expect great things from it.
I was pleasantly surprised as it is quite nice, very smooth with a long lasting taste.
worth a try..

This is the one that started my fascination with rum. I met my wife while visiting PR years ago and was able to get this for super cheap on the island. The flavor of Bacardi with its tropical fruit bite and the finish of sweet smokey/ginger/oak/light caramel that's not too dark or heavy like some darker rums can sometimes be. It is hot as a straight sipper but excellent as a mixer. Pure nostalgia for me every time I have it. Warning:if you drink it on the rocks it ends up tasting like Bacardi Superior and becomes too bitter on the finish.

This rum tastes good initially and has good notes of wood and cask on the first few sips. Nothing too extreme or aggressive flavor wise, but you can sip it. The problem I have with this one as a sipper is the sweet "after" flavor, that stays at the back of the palate, which makes me regret I started sipping it. I think it would be a good mixer, though I have not tried it for that yet.

One of the few if not the only bacardi that is reasonable priced that can be called rum. A good rum to sip or to mix

Goes well as a mixer or as a sipping rum in a pinch. Not a great nose but plenty of caramel and a bit of an oak flavor with no after-burn if you're sipping. Not the most favorful but it's a solid choice if you don't the other offerings on the shelf. It's never a bad Christmas gift.

Forse ideale per mischiare ma da liscio da poche emozioni.

You will never open my cabinet and miss this bottle. This is by far my favorite. While it is definitely not top of the shelf, this is the one that sparkled my curiosity for rum. Great for sipping, if you're brave enough.

My first rum; fantastic for Cubas, on the rocks or just neat.
