Abuelo je ve vůni nejprve trochu štiplavější, poté mi připomnělo vůni po Diplomaticu.
V chuti vyšší náznak štiplavitosti, není sladký.
Je to ovocnější, dospělý rum, mám v oblibě sladší, přesto se jedno o dobrý rum
There is nothing offensive about this rum, the nose is a little deceptive, the alcohol filled aroma would lead you to believe this rum is going to be strong and harsh but it isn't its soft but complex with a very sweet after taste.

Une belle couleur, un nez caramel et vanille une attaque légère et une bonne rondeur.
Sans être exeptionel c'est un bon rhum.

Well balanced rum, taste is not distracting sweet, but mid sweet, i feel bit vanilla (but like natural, not artificial aroma), oak, chocolate and cognac. Good proportion quality / price

Gut ausbalancierter Ron mit Charakter
In der Nase angenehme Holznoten mit einer fruchtigen Frische.
Im Gaumen sehr elegant und geschmeidig, Vanille, Karamell, getrocknete süsse Früchte...
Im Abgang schwingt eine dezente Schwere mit.
Well balanced Ron with character.
In the nose pleasant wood notes with a fruity freshness.
On the palate very elegant and supple, vanilla, caramel, dried sweet fruits ...
There is a subtle weight in the finish.

This was my first premium rum I tried and it set the bar pretty high. Poured over an ice cube, the flavors of vanilla and caramel pop. I'm eager to try other premium rums to compare.

After my initial introduction to the fabulous 7-years old Abuelo some years ago, the time had come for me to get to know its 12-years old brother, my expectations being really high....but the awakening was rather rude! Although it's older, it's even sweeter, and if in the case of the 7-years old the balance between dryness-sweetness is succeeded in an exemplary manner, here in our case we are talking about an intense sugary palate, a feature that covers nearly everything else. Yes, it is a pleasant rum after all, but I wouldn't prefer my rum to be as sweet as a birthday cake!
