Chocolate, vanilla, coffee and banana. Bit spicy. Smooth and very drinkable.
Rum, který mi v rumových začátcích hodně chutnal, teď už "nadšení" ustupuje, ale pořád to patří mezi rumovou klasiku.
Tasted at Laka Lono on 9/14/21. Reddish amber in appearance. Delightful aroma of honeysuckle, toasted caramel and peaches. Big up front sweetness. A wee bit hot at 46%. Pepper and spiciness. Some chocolate. Big bolus of honey sweetness. with a couple of drops of water releases even more chocolate.
Old flask shaped bottle is cool. Can’t see the darn level though! Rum is sweet, low punch. Nice woody, Spicy aroma. Tastes like pastries and orange. A little more viscous.
I have been looking for a quality sipping rum to replace Kirk & Sweeney 18 ever since they switched to their new blends that just aren't nearly as good. This fits that bill perfectly! The taste is wonderfully complex with just a hint of natural sweetness.
This is a 10-year-old rum from the Barbados distillery Foursquare. The rum was aged in oak bourbon barrels and is bottled at 46% ABV strength.
Bottle: The bottle is very unusual with a curved neck. It is meant to mimic the leather bottles of sailors of yore.
Colour: Light Amber
Nose: Very distinctive and varied. Upon sniffing from the glass, there is a nose of ripe tropical fruit (mainly bananas), ripe sweet white wine grapes, raisins, roasted nuts, leather, oak wood and also some synthetic thinner.
Mouth: Pleasant, dry and fruity. Not sweet, but not whiskey-scratchy either. There is vanilla, roasted nuts, honey, spices (pepper, cinnamon, cloves) and a slight bitterness of wood.
Finish: Long
R.L.Seale's is an honest complex British-style rum. It is a very above standard rum for the price.
Rating: 8.5 /10
"Buttery, nuttiness hits me and washes over my tongue in waves. It’s magical stuff..."
"RL Seale 10-Year review by the Rum Diaries Blog"
The nose is classically Bajan.
"It leaves notes of oak, nuts and smokiness behind in the finish which is long and pleasant. ."

This was recommended to me by a store employee. They have me the backstory about how the bottle was designed after a ship caught on fire decades ago. And the company kept with the melted neck design. Too bad the juice isn't up to par with the story. Quite harsh! Plenty of burn and utterly forgettable. Not worth even trying. I almost took it back for a refund. But I'll use it in Pina Coladas. 🍹
