Molasses and some baking spices, the latter more on the nose than the palate. Smooth but not super flavorful. I prefer the Real McCoy 12 year for sipping.
probably a 8.5! can be taken as a shot, or mixed in drinks!
I've had a good amount of low to mid end rums, and a couple high end. This is in my top 3. It's perfectly balanced: perfect typical rum nose with a touch of alcohol. Slightly sweet and fruity on the palate, nothing stands out. Again very balanced. On the finish it unfolds into some sweet burnt molasses, baking spices, and just the right amount of burn. It's a nice long finish. If you can't afford/find Foursquare, buy it. Buy it anyways.
Tropical fruit & vanilla notes. It is smooth and has no lasting taste of high proof rum. For the price, I think itโs great.
I like it better than some of the ECMโs over the years (looking at you, 2004) and itโs half the price.
Noticeable upgrade on the ten year. Love this.
Light on the nose, smooth and sweet on the tongue. Sweet molasses that has a little heat left, great sipper on the rocks. Very enjoyable.

Oh Wow! 9 out of 10
Finally got to sample R.L. Seale 12 yr rum. Didnโt know what to expect, being from Foursquare Distillery My expectations were high however, I feared I would be disappointed as I have tasted several rums from his ECS well, the ABV is definitely not as high (46%) but the flavour definitely is. Just love it! Now have 3 full bottles at home. Richard Seale has yet to disappoint me. So good!
