Pyrat XO Rum is produced from nine different Caribbean rums that are blended and then aged up to 15 years in used American sweet oak barrels.
The squat Pyrat XO rum bottle shape is inspired by the typical design of rum bottles kept by pirates and ship captains in the 19th century.

For a blended spirit, I find this one to be very tasty, somewhat sweet and with a nice aroma of oranges.

This is one of the worst rums i tried, i can not understand how ppl whould like this. The tast is for me like toilet cleaner with orange flavor

The best tasting rum I’ve ever tried, color is the hue of sweet molasses;bottle is the shape of real pirate bottles. Perfect for sipping or cocktails.

This Rum is one of my favorites so far with the nose to the taste. It does require time to breathe upon opening or it comes across with a cleaner smell. Once it opens up you pick up citrus, vanilla, and spice notes. The taste to me is buttery feeling with citrus, molasses, vanilla, I’ve had pricier Rums but I prefer this as my go to. The taste does match the smell, it’s a nice Rum for me, sweet, decent legs, smells like Christmas sweets.

Pyrat X.O. Reserve je osobitý rum míchaný z velmi dobrých vyzrálých rumů s těžkým a sladkým aroma, které zrají v sudech 15 let. Chutná po vanilce, marcipánu, sladkém koření a přezrálém ovoci. Dezertní rum s dlouhým koncem. Pro zrání se používají sudy, které dříve obsahovaly pomerančový likér Citrónge, obohacující finální produkt chutí pomerančů.

Tenhle rum jsem dostal na návštěvě u kamaráda a říkám, že jde o naprostý průměr, který neurazí, ani nenadchne. Není ani příliš výrazný, ani příliš nevýrazný. Vlastně by se dali s trochou nadsázky říct, že jde o typický rum. Hezky voní. Ale protože vím, že pro jedno kvítí slunce nesvítí, tak mu dám určitě ještě šanci. Uvidíme, třeba se odleží

Pyrat is way down in the pack. It’s an ok rum. It just doesn’t jump up and grab your taste buds and scream, “I’m Great!!” But... it’s probably one you need to try, so as to know the difference when you do taste a really great rum.

I find this rum to be lighter tasting than most rums. Smooth and interesting enough to warrant buying again, but a bit too expensive for regular purchase. I recommend this one for non-rum people buying a rum for mixed drinks that aren't cola based, as the "rum" flavor isn't overly pronounced. Great bottle and packaging, nice to see companies put the effort into packaging without going over the top (ahem, vodka manufacturers).
