Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum

Plantation XO 20th Anniversary

Multiple | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still

Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.

The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

This rum is ridiculously smooth. It’s smoother than drinking water. It has a very velvety sensation and perfectly balanced aromas. The first time I tried it it blew me away.

01/2021 After over 60 rums one had to get dropped down and as great as this is it just doesn’t compete with the other tens anymore

Vynikající, velmi jemný rum s chutí banánů, vanilky a kokosu. Nic nepřeslazeného. Velmi výjimečný zážitek který nemůže nikoho urazit. Výjimečnost navíc podtrhuje i nezapomenutelné provedení lahve.

Einer meiner liebsten Rums. Weich, fruchtig, etwas Vanille, etwas Kokos. Wirklich toll!

Love this special edition Plantation rum. It leans a bit on the sweet side, but it is an exceptional choice and addition to any connoisseur’s cabinet.
From bottle presentation, to nose, to taste, there is nothing bad to say about this fine rum.
Truly a top notch choice.

Had to buy cheaper rum to avoid drinking it in one night

Such an incredible smell! My drinking experience always starts with the smell. Every single tasting note complements the others. The rum goes down so smooth. I made a mad scramble around Paris to find a bottle before I left. I can’t find it in my area.

Absoute winner for the price. Actually much better then the majority of pricier rum's out there.

Its colour is amber.

On the nose, it is the toasted (or even fried) coconut that immediately comes to the fore and is more and more present! Vanilla and orange reinforce the greedy side of this rum.

In the mouth it is also greedy and soft (without being too sweet). It is the vanilla that comes to the fore and relegates the coconut to second place. The texture of this rum is also greedy.

The finish is coconutty and not just a little. There is also the sensation of something fatty and unctuous

I love the bottle, it fits to what is inside. Tropical, sweet flavours, very rich.

For me, this is right on the line of sipper vs. mixer. Tolerable as a sipper with a bit of ice and exceptionally tasty as a mixer.
