Plantation Barbados 5-Year rum is distilled from molasses and aged 5 years in bourbon casks before being transported to France for further 'finishing' in Cognac casks.
Plantation rum is owned by the French company Cognac Ferrand, which was founded in 1989 and produces wine, gin, and other spirits to sell in over 40 countries. The Plantation range includes 7 vintages from different Caribbean countries and 3 blends of multiple regions.

I don't like whiskey in the usual dosage, but since this rum was aged in bourbon barrels, it has a very subtle overtone of that whiskey flavor I can appreciate. I never drink rum neat, so I can't speak for that, but this one was great in last night's Mai Tai.

Rum ten praktycznie nie pachnie, zapach jest nielotny i maΕo bogaty. Kolejny fakt iΕΌ w drinku nie ma charakteru, w sumie to ten rum charakteru nie ma zupeΕnie. Ewidentnie jest to premium rum, wyleΕΌakowany ale pΕaski total. Natomiast za plus delikatnoΕΔ - wiele kobiet bΔdzie pod wraΕΌeniem, ΕatwoΕΔ picia oraz fakt iΕΌ nie czuΔ alkoholu oraz piΔkna prezencja.

One of the best tasting rums for me. Nice sweet taste but not to sweet. Hint of vanilla brown sugar and baked cookies
I would say this is a mixing rum. Put in the middle for mixing

Great for a 5 year, bittersweet, fruity notes with a short medium finish. Great for use in tikis

Simple and not very complex Rum but good value for the money. Light in color, smells of candy and tastes of candy as well but not too much. Very smooth, surprisingly smooth when you looks at the price, I had to check twice the alcohol level in it. It could have had more character and more aftertaste but It's a pleasant experience and a good first rum experience.

A very different take on a Barbados rum, enough there to be a Barbados rum, but compared to doorlys, the real McCoy or mount gay black barrel it has a unique flavour. Worth a try

Decent rum, good price. A bit sweet for me, but still good. Easy sipper on a budget.

Heck the more i drink rum the more i find that Plantation is doing a great job. This rum is very nice, you can drink it neat, on the rocks or a quite tasty Rum and Coke. Good stuff for the money spent.
