Pampero Aniversario was first crafted in 1963 to commemorate the Pampero company’s 25th anniversary. The rum is a blend of rums ranging in maturity from four to six years and aged in whisky and bourbon barrels.
The Pampero distillery was founded by Alejandro Hernández of Venezuela in 1938. The brand is now a division of the world’s largest liquor holding company, Diageo.

I was a bit disappointed of this rum, after I was told so many good things about it. It doesn't have many interesting aromas and a strong tast for alcohol.

Sweet mainland rum, brown sugar, vanilla, oak. Goes down easy, fairly smooth. 12g/L sugar content, colored.

Above average sweetness and hardly alcohol harshness.
Main note: OAK. Perhaps also some liquorice and caramel.

With a bit more depth than its brother 1938. Smooth and mellow, with a nice colour it can be drunk anywhere anytime...

One of the best in its price range, along with the Flor de Cana 7 yr in my opinion. Because of the very agreeable price I've always looked mildly upon the Pampero Anniversario. It's a smooth vanilla-caramel-molasses type rum, slighty oaky, that's not overly sweet. Plain, uncomplicated but good, easy sipper and I always poor a second or a third when drinking this one, usually with friends. It doesn't tire out the tastebuds like some more sophisticated and complex rums can do. The only qualms I have concern the bottle, which is a bit disney-pirat, with the wax seal and stuff. The leather sack it came in was nice though.

Smooth, sweet sipper in lovely packaging for under € 25,- Good value in my book. 7,5. Is it just me or does the same rum get differrent ratings on the forum? As far as I can see Pampero Aniversario only comes as 'reserva exclusiva' but is rated 2x here.The non 'exclusiva' rating a full point lower.
