A flagship of most successful cliché top-tier sweet rum commercial brand as my friend (an experienced rumstore runner) atply said. The rum has strong plummy and raisin smell, promising something really sweet coming up. The taste is little less sweet than smell would tell with predominant caramel/chocolate/sweet fruit tones at first but also kicky and long and burny in the end.
I felt plums (or more likely some plum-like overrrpien fruits) in the nose the most.
The glass is a prime sample how luxurious rums should be packed and presented, including the cork solution which is the smartest, coolest I've seen so far. (The cork got fucked up lately as the rum was here for several months being primarily served on family occassions due to its "Jack of all trades" kind of taste and smell).
If this rum would was a car it would be ford mustang: renome (way) over the actual experience.
And I find comments like "you must love it, otherwise bla-bla" silly at best. Many true (agricole, pure) rum lovers will likely not like it (so much). Actually this rum did not impress any of my friends as well, incl. heavy-sugar-dose addicts and sweet junkies.

The bottle is a high end old rhum bottle, the prince is the one of a great rhum, BUT, surprise, it is not. A sugared flavoured syrup. Who is not my taste, even if it is a very good one. When I buy a spiced rhum, I would like to know it BEFORE opening the bottle. Specially at this price.
Even if it is the best spiced rhum I tried.

great blent out of extra old barrels with a strong burn. super smooth, and a lot of fruit. especially cassis.
like oil and very long. If you taste different during the evening, this one should be the last one. great

Bra sötma, inte för mycket. Chokladboll, apelsin i smaken. Vanilj. Lång eftersmak.

Extremely sweet, as A. H. Riise heavily doses their rums. However, through the sweetness, you can really taste what seems to be an amazing rum. While I am not a big fan of rums this sweet, this one is a bright exception. I went through the tasting set of A. H. Riise and Santos Dumont rums (24 different bottles), and I could barely taste the differences because of the high sugar content. However, this particular bottle strongly stood out. Love it as a dessert or poured over some ice cream.

Miniature bottle from an advent calendar.
42% alcohol. No statement on age or cask.
Colour: brown, probably has some caramel added

Nose: lovely and "rummy", sweets and ripe fruits
Palate: The aromas of the sweets turn into candy floss and dominate all the way through.  The fig and raisin notes are second to that and are also subdued by the prominent sweetness. No real wood notes.
Sweetness: 4/5
Burn: very gentle
Throat: medium finish

Summary: if you have a sweet tooth this would do well. Needs a bit of ice or a few frozen grapes

I received this rum as a gift, and I must say, for those who enjoy a sweeter taste, this rum is a must-try. Its smooth and refined taste is worth every penny. Interestingly, I also purchased Des Maderas 5+5 around the same time I received this bottle. I tried Des Maderas first, and then tasted this one, and the difference in quality and smoothness was mind-blowing. Once you've tasted this jewel, other rums will pale in comparison.
