Ron Arehucas Añejo Reserva Especial shows an elegant mahogany color, a result of long storage in oak barrels of hundreds of years old rum cellar. This extraordinary spirit is stored for a full 18 years until it is ready to be enjoyed.
8,2:On the nose, there could be found full and intense aromas of fresh sugar cane, mild spices, caramel and vanilla weaven with toasted oak, volcanique, floral notes(Canary islands are volcanos) linger underneath.Coffee/cocoa , banana, tropical fruits burst out in the end.
8:On the palate it is mouth-filling and intense with strong spicy notes, slightly fruity with hints of wild behind it with notes of sugar cane, honey and some vanilla intertwined with orange peel and peaches and of course volcanique notes that burst out secondly .It is tasty and very balanced, soft and powerful at the same time. Oak is completed by caramel and a hint of smoke that lingers on. Exceptionally harmonious rum inspite of the great complexity of aromas.
8:The finish is long and sweet, syrupy like with some woodiness, vanilla, honey and sugar cane juice, banana completes the finish....

El mejor ron canario que he probado hasta ahora, muy agradable, equilibrado y nada alcoholico
He pagado 22€ por un ron de 18 años, y aunque su aroma no es nada especial, su sabor es extremadamente agradable. No me voy a quejar.
A Kanári szigeteken gondoltam teszek egy próbát rendes rummal is. (Nem csak azokkal a borzalams mégez rumokkal) Nem bántam meg. Kifinomult ital. Karaktere engem a Kolumbiai rumokra emlékeztet.
Tisztán,vagy egy jó szivar mellé igazán kellemessé teheti az estét.

I bought this bottle at the Arehucas Distillery on Gran Canary island.
It has a quite developed flavour and taste. Not so much on the sweet side. Tastes actually as one would expect the taste of a decent matured rum. No surprises here.
I was told, that sugar cane from the island was used in this rum. At the distillery it was quite a bargain. And the bottle design is one of the best I have seen yet!
