Light bronze color. The nose gives notes of exotic fruit with pineapple. There is also coconut, butter, vegetal notes and woody, cigar box. On the palate, it's very hot on spices. Pepper, nutmeg. The final is short on wood, leather, tobacco. Very nice rum.

Wonderfully complex, with depth, smoothness and strength

I definitely agree with another reviewer's opinion on the "minty" aroma. That really is something - very unusual and quite pleasant.
Excellent flavor and persistence - oily, nutty, and quite refined even for such a young age (and very well behaved at such a strength). I detect the cooling quality from the mint on the finish which is very peculiar... Here we see the high proof supporting a rather subtle balance of flavors and aromas, rather than a beast like we might expect from a Jamaican. Best to have it sipped, and enjoyed over the course of several hours.

Ongelooflijk smaakvolle rum die maar 2 is gerijpt op ex-cognac vaten. Gewoon puur te drinken ondanks hoge alcohol percentage.

This is a great offering and example on how Foursquare can make a tremendous 100% pot still. PLEASE MAKE MORE!

This special bottling is unlike any other Foursquare I’ve tried. The best description I can think of is like Appleton Estate but on steroids.

It’s strong, has a fair amount of spice and a lingering burn. I’m not yet able to add any flavor notes, because while it has them, I can’t identify them at all. I’ll revisit this as I have more experience.

It’s delicious, best served neat (ice does nothing for this rum), and leaves with you with the impression you’re just not good enough for this expression :)

Edit@ Upon further review, I’ve identified notes of olive, banana, and pepper. Sounds odd but it isn’t.

Nagyon finom rum, de nekem ez már kezd a túl erős kategóriába tartozni. Ha valaki szereti a magas alkoholfokú rumokat akkor ez az ő itala. 🙂

64% ABV. Aged for 2 years in the tropics. A rare 100 pot-still from FS.

Very hot, very dry, and very nutty. Almond butter? Kinda bitter. Herbal, like Chartreuse? Not at all what I was expecting for a 2yo rum. Very impressive. Medium-short finish.

I'd LOVE to try this in a Mai Tai if it weren't so dear 😬 But mostly this is a good one to sip on and concentrate as you tease out the flavors of a rare young bottling that has so much to say.
