Outstanding blended overproof rum. Perhaps the best or even better alternative for the hardly available (in europe) Lemon Hart 151. Great for tiki drinks. One of few Plantation rums without added sugar.

The kick of this one is enormous, but the after taste is worth it. Literally an explosion of different taste notes

tried both neat, on ice and as a mixer. found it too strong to drink straight so i mixed it in drinks and it was just amazing.

A bit smoky and caramel notesโ€ฆ still had some hints of spice rum and heavy alcohol finish.

Nice nose and flavor for a good solid rum but not a repeat purchase with all the great rum.

There is an apparent sweetness on the nose, mixed with raisins, heavy molasses and Jamaican funky overripe banana, the sweet feeling is also at the beginning of the taste profile (aspecially at the beginning of the bottle, it is almost gone towards the end), which quickly turns into burnt rubber and burning bitterness. The texture is suspiciously oily as if some additives were present. For 69% ABV it is even sippable in small quantities for those who are not faint-hearted. When watered down 2 to 1 to some 45 % ABV, the burnt rubber is still present on the nose, the aftertaste is bitter molasses, spices and an alcohol kick. When mixed with coke, Jamaican funk strikes the nose, sweet tones are gone, the bitter ending of the taste profile somewhat negates the coke sweetness. I have to say that this mix of components from Jamaica, Guayana and Barbados somehow does not appeal to my nose and taste buds. I use it mainly undilluted as a cure for the sore throat. The price is actually good for the ABV though.

OFTD is surprisingly versatile for an overproof rum. Definitely โ€œhotโ€ neat, but mellowed by complex caramel and molasses notes, with a hint of overripe banana. A large cube cuts the heat to be more in line with lower proof peers. OFTD is an excellent choice in a variety of cocktails, especially those in the tiki family - itโ€™s bold enough to stand out, but not so much that it would bully other ingredients and adds a welcome depth other dark rums miss. A real treasure, especially for the price point.

This is really too strong. Not only because of the alcohol content 69%.

So, after this being recommended to me I figured, hell let's go there. I noticed after it breaths a while it becomes more desirable. You can tell there's much tweaking going on which is very noble! Although I'm not so convinced with the proof rating. It stated 138 but I figure more like 100 proof. Anybody actually test it's proof? Thanks to Paul B. this one is now on my shelf because it has that likeability about it. It seems to get better and better every day! Cheers!

Full character filled with spice, black currents, oak and nutmeg. Brings out that extra pop. Love this one more for tiki cocktails than sipping.
