The taste of the rom that remains in your mouth is unbelievable.
Flavour is balance with midium to high sweetness (but not too much overhelming or cloying artificial like A. H. Riise stuff), cinamon, spice, honey, cherry, figs, raisins, peaches & tiny bourbon oak with medium to short aftertaste and very low alcohol (it is a bit bland). The price in Europe is around 45-55 euro compared Dominican Republic which is around 20$ (very cheap) but even so I think for the taste the value is good. This is not something complex or that special-luxury feeling, it is a bit simple but very good for daily drinking for most people but fore me needs little more complexity & maturness to hit higher mark...
This rum is perhaps too sweet for some drinkers but I really like it!
Sladký rum s dřevitou složkou a rozinkami. Zajímavá láhev, ale opětovná koupě nebude.
I'm drinking this rum every time I go to the D.R. . For me it's cheap for the locals expensive. That's why, when you order a Brugal, they never ask you: Leyenda?
But ok, of all the rums I know, this is the one..... only the smell is good already :-)
Than the taste: smooth with the sense of wood and something sweet, but not sweet other people tend to say... it's more a touch of sweet. Also I sense herbs. The combination of these factors makes the drinking of this rum tremendous: one medium ice cube, so it doesn't get to watery or cold
Salud!
Brugal’s best. Best aroma, best taste, best after taste and best presentation (although I do miss the colored shield for some reason...).
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

My friend brought this back from the Dominican and it sat on his bar shelf until last week. He's a Rum Ratings follower and I decided it was time for me to join and this is my first review. It's a sweet and smooth rum. I tasted caramel or butterscotch...I can't tell the difference yet as well as vanilla and oak. As a newbie, that's all I could detect. I think he said he paid about $24 Canadian for it and it's better than anything that I have tried at the LCBO in that price range. That price range gets you Lambs or Captain Morgans....Yikes.
