A bit on the strong side but add a splash of water or a cube of ice and this is a great rum.
Had a bottle arrive today
Very well priced Rum for the 54% product of Guyana
What a nose on this one got to give this some time in the glass a heavy Rum then super light Smokey Dates, prunes FRENCH AGEN PRUNES in a burnt Caramel Tart given time in the mouth .
On cold days I sip with the addition of a slash of warm water ,just find the right amount for your tastes .
You've got to give this one a go, this is not a skinny women but it is great Value
I own a bottle and only rate what I have bought £31 uk
Good rum. .
Can’t deny that this is a Pussers product. Plenty of fire and a really tasty libation.
It hits the marks for strength, color and mixability, but is dosed a bit much for my palate. The sweet aftertaste kills the overall experience for me, and it’s a little flabby, but it’s a decent beginner navy-style rum since it’s easily accessible and can be utilized in any preparation. Yes, it’ll light on fire. You can make an intro-level grog without adding more than water and lime. I prefer Hamilton’s navy rum to this for character, flavor and body.
After drinking the boring Pusser's red label I didn't expect anything from this one apart from an alcoholic kick. This is still a very young and non-refined rum but there is much more balance, it is not too sweet and there is definitely more depht to it. Fruit (banana), wood, molasses and very herbal; almost a spiced rum in taste. The 54% ABV gets your attention but it is perfectly drinkable neat, you just should count the number of refills to keep it straight! Not a rum I would stock but certainly a nice glass after a day outdoors in winter.
It is fruity, hints of smokiness.
"It’s not sickly and overly spiced like some navy rums. There is a real complexity about this rum with a lot of flavour. ."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Pusser’s Gunpowder Proof
I purchased a bottle of Pusser’s Gunpowder Proof primarily because I enjoy the Blue Label (40% ABV) version from time to time. On the nose I detected coffee, caramel and molasses which was quite enjoyable. In the mouth these flavours blended very well and in spite of preferring dry rums I found this one quite delicious. Have tried and disliked several “sweeter” rums due to the sweetness but the higher ABV in this rum seems to work and In my case I find this to be a nice “sipper” on its own. Well done!
