Barbados | Aged | 43% ABV | Pot and Column Still
Produced in Barbados by master distiller Richard Seale, the rums in Doorly XO have been aged a minimum of 6 years before finishing in Olorosco sherry casks. The second maturation in sherry casks is rare and gives Doorly XO its unique flavour.

inadequate saturation for the icon XO, not worth the money, time - improved
nez caramel gourmand , banane vanille
bouche, sèchement doux , légèrement boiser , fruité sans envolé particulière
longueur , boiser vite diciper , légère anesthésie , fini sur figue mure très légèrement
Picked this up at the RL Seale factory in Barbados...very good rum in the line of Bajan rums. Not necessarily my go to sipping rum but good on almost any occasion. Hints of honey and vanilla on the palate but definitely not too sweet
Bit too liquorice taste and maybe slightly bitter. Not terrible, but prefer other rums
Good and tasty rum.....a little sweet and dry after a short while.
Taste is not long and I get some banana and vanilla and maybe a little sweet licorice.
To be honest the main quality of this rum is its price. It's not a bad rum, let's get clear, it has no real other default than being a bit too light: You won't keep a strong sensation, neither good nor bad, while drinking this rum.
At least it is sold at the price it worthes.
I prefer XO rums as they consistently rate high for me
First taste I was pretty disappointed, no real flavour, a slight oak taste with an upfront burn and a medium tail of nothing, ice mellowed the burn but did not open up the flavour
The smell is plain, the colour is murky amber.
As a mixer its good, I use ginger ale, it helped this taste better
Price wise it is not top tier but expensive for what it is, go buy Bumbu XO for a better tasting rum that is cheaper.
It has that distinctive light and fruity Bajan nose. .
"It’s nicely balanced and subtle on the nose. The rum is initially quite sweet with notes of toffee, banana, a little orange and citrusy lemon/lime. The finish is long and quite spicy with a hint of oak."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I really like the Seale rums having tried Doorly’s 8 and RL Seale. I thought I’d try something new from Seale. I agree with many other reviewers that the sherry taste (with hints of black spice) takes away from a good aged rum. The price was excellent and if you like a quality slightly flavored rum, go for it.
