Trinidad and Tobago | Aged | 40% ABV
Angostura 1919 rum is produced in Trinidad by blending a combination of light and heavy molasses distilled rums. These rums spend at least 8 years aging in American oak bourbon barrels.
The name Angostura "1919" refers to the event in 1932 when Angostura's distillery was destroyed by fire. Miraculously, a handful of barrels filled with rum from 1919 survived and were purchased by J.B. Fernandes - the master blender of Fernandes Distillers.

Nice sipping rum, smooth, but vanilla flavor is somewhat overpowering.
I believe this will go great at a dinner party.
This is a nice tasting rum. A little sweet with a clear taste of vanilla and little afterburn. I had it dry and also with coke, both ways didn't dissapoint. Matbe an 8 is a bit high but it's deffinitly a solid 7,5. It's a shame that old (square) bottle isn't available anymore.
I like this rum, but, I do think it has a whiskey character to it.
Très agréable et belle harmonie entre les arômes et le goût ! Excellent rapport qualité-prix ...
It seemed to be the most popular offering in the duty-free shop, so I tried a bottle. I've had better, and lord knows I've had worse! It's ok. A pleasant sweet taste but a little rough around the edges.
When you drink it and swallow, then easily breathe through mouth, you can feel the taste of cocoa bitterness and very unspectacular touch of vanilla. Not so sweet, not so sharp. Good to drink. :-)
I consider this a very good quality rum. It has a full, semi sweet and quite earthy taste with a considerable amount of alcohol in the aftertaste.
One of my favorite rum's from Trinidad nice sipping rum.
I like this one for using in my dark and stormys and in manhattans, also really good mojitos. You can drink neat but I still prefer the 1824 it 12 year eldorado

There is a little “oak and smoke” and a very small scent of fruit.
"The rum is very smooth with notes of oak, cocoa and vanilla. Perhaps a little banana but very subtle."

A friend gifted me a bottle of this. It was the first bottle I sipped through on the rocks with a lime. Good stuff and not harsh on the way down.
