Classic Appleton taste without the harsh. No sweet added like the whole Appleton collection. Some complexity. Woody and rich. One of the best bang for the buck.

Note: I'm a sipper. My opinion is based on sipping characteristics.

Frankly I'm leaning between 7 and 8 but let me just have another bottle before upping my rating. The rare blend delivers excellent experience with quite some development and pretty long finish. Off to a smooth start and it's just few moments after when the aftershock hits. It's a thing I tend to call "the lidocaine effect" as everything goes numb for few moments. And I shall say this one might as well have the longest lidocaine effect of everything I have tasted. A really good sipper.

A nice jamaican rum
Let it breathe for a while.
Nice colour, balaced taste, not extra sweet, with complexity in the aftertaste.
Definitely a sipperโ€™s choice. Accompany it with dark chocolate and a good cigar.

Amazing, my favourite Jamaican rum to date. Lovely nose with a bit of alcohol burst in a pleasant way. Tasty classic rum flavours with a nice long aftertaste and a good abv 43% kick. Lovely stuff will buy again very soon.
Edit, Iโ€™m on my fifth bottle now and Iโ€™m so sad they arenโ€™t making this variant anymore. So close to a nine

Very nice sipping rum that made my humble top 5 instantly. Smooth af, sweet but not overwhelmingly, and great rich color to boot. Will definitely buy again.

Itโ€™s a nice dark amber with typical tropical scents that Appleton is known for.
Taste has the Appleton funk with nice carmelized fruits. It also packs a bit more of a punch than other rums at 43% abv. Itโ€™s still pleasant, just a bit more in your face.
A classic, no doubt and whether itโ€™s the newer bottle design or the old, this is a must try for any rum connoisseur.

Exactly what I was expecting in terms of color and smell. Taste was the heavy Jamaican taste which is expected. Good with 1 ice cube. Could always be better.

A nice classic Jamaican. Not too sweet and with a fine taste.

For the price this is a pretty solid buy. Nice dark color with a very smooth finish.

First glass was - OMG, is this a rum or what? And the last was, mmmm, I am gonna see you again baby! It was my first Jamaica rum some time ago, it was not a love on the first sight, but man - this is such a good drink for such good price. The nose is not typically Jamaican funk as you can find in Hampden, it is less filled with esters, it has deeper undertones of oak, fruits and molasses, real pleasure. The taste is smooth yet rich, full of oak, smoke and spice, the aftertaste is long and complex. I got to buy another one to reevaluate :). Moved the old rating here from extra 12y where I put it mistakenly quite some time ago.
