This rum is a unique puppy. According to the label it is a blend of several "premium Caribbean rums" (whatever that means) and, according to the label, aged for 12 months (that's one whole year). I have read differing accounts on how the rum is made and from where those "premium Caribbean rums" originate. One thing those accounts agree is that is a mixture of agricole rum and molasses-based rum. This gives it a noticeable blend of both flavors. Never had something like that. It's not bad.

It has an interestingly strong aroma...not unpleasant to my nose but noticeably strong. The color is a light amber...really more of a light yellow but that's not surprising when one has a blend of rums aged for only a year. Not sure what sort of barrels were used but there's really little tannin bitterness to it.

And unique rum with a unique flavor. Worth a try.

Vůně: Sladká, vůbec ne lihová, lehce technická, kvašené ovoce, vanilka, koření
Chuť: Sladší, štiplavá, vanilka, dub, lehce technická, čokoláda, koření
Dochuť: Střední, nahořklá
Kdo má rád nahořklý závěr, přidá si bod.

I buy this at the supermarket for 13.70 US.

For its price it is easily drinkable on ice.

Saint James Heritage is better left on the store shelf. Cheap bottle, cheap label, very light and pale color, glue to the nose, very immature flavor profile and a nasty burn at the end.

Someone gave me a bottle of this as present. Not my favourite. I can almost taste liquorice in there, quite a peculiar taste to me. The word 'grassy' came to mind.. After a glass I started to get into it a little more and was able to enjoy it, but definitely took some effort at first. You might try it if you're looking for something different, but I won't be coming back to this one after I finish it.

From my point of view it is well made rum, according to its price, is smooth and vegetal – obviously blended by the rhum agricole master blender. The burn might be too much for someone, so if you want to sip it I recommend you to add one ice cube. Saint James Heritage on the rocks is ideal for summer evenings, because you enjoy the light sugar cane taste without the warming alcohol burn, it simply melts in the ice.

This is more like agricole rums, which I dislike, so this was really hard for me to drink.

The rum that has a clean and sweet taste of sugar cane. Definitely is a keeper.

Maybe not that respectful to the rum, but this one in the mix with Sprite... the absolute taste of summer!!
Therefore this one is in the permanent collection.
