Smooth and clean on the palate. Let it breath after the initial opening and the second glass was even better. Subtle hints of caramel and vanilla. Perhaps a touch sweet but overall quite worth the purchase at such a decent price.

De Foursquare Distilleerderij flikt het weer. Top Barbados rum, witte eiken vaatjes gebruikt. Geen toegevoegde suiker. Zacht in de mond, smaken van karmel, hout, appel, tabak, kaneel en vanille.
A smooth rum capable of sipping on the rocks with a very nice flavor.
Moderately smooth & tasty! Not for mixing. Of course, I had this after about 4 other rums, so take that into account!

Oaky nose with hints of chocolate and toffee. Finish is oaky with a hint of pepper.
Sherry and chlorine on the nose.
Apricot taste with some coconut.
Une grande finesse pour ce rhum de la Barbade. Caramel et vanille mais contrairement à beaucoup d'autres, l'équilibre est subtil, raffiné, sans excès... Plaisir pour les papilles.
Familiar notes of vanilla and light toffee/caramel.
"An initial hit of sweetness, brown sugar and a little spicy pepper is overtaken by dry oaked flavour and a nice spiced heat. The finish is very smooth and long lasting."

The internet seems to love Foursquare distillery and I can see why - if you came from whisky or, especially, bourbon. This is a good spirit that is somewhat similar. Easy to drink and far lighter than most oily, sugary rums, it is a good bridge between whisky and sweet rum. That being said, I feel the recent trend of hating on sugar being added to rum elevates drier rums and punishes sweeter ones to the detriment of the spirit. There is an art to dry rum, as there is an art to sweet rum, but one is not better for being absent added sugar.
