The Doorly's 12 years shows us a beautiful light brown/golden color presented in a nice bottle.
Once in mounth, you discover mainly pastry aromas and vanilla.
Not really in my range of rum.
The internet seems to love Foursquare distillery and I can see why - if you came from whisky or, especially, bourbon. This is a good spirit that is somewhat similar. Easy to drink and far lighter than most oily, sugary rums, it is a good bridge between whisky and sweet rum. That being said, I feel the recent trend of hating on sugar being added to rum elevates drier rums and punishes sweeter ones to the detriment of the spirit. There is an art to dry rum, as there is an art to sweet rum, but one is not better for being absent added sugar.
Typical Foursquare rum in that it’s delicious and crisp. No additives and bold flavor at 43%.
Atypical Foursquare in that the price point belies the exceptional quality usually associated with FS rum.
A bit simple in flavor notes compared to some other offerings, but very satisfying and would be as good in a cocktail as it is as a sipper.
Caramel, brown sugar and honey notes followed by noticeable oak/wood notes and a decent burn.
A bit docile on the palate, and a slightly bitter aftertaste, but entirely drinkable!
This doesn't mix well but nice enough on it's own.
Farbe: helles Bernstein
Nice bottle and beautiful amber color, this rum. This rum has very pastry aromas with almonds, vanilla and spices. It is very soft but the finish is not very long. Excellent value for money but it's not me.
Sherry and chlorine on the nose.
Apricot taste with some coconut.
Familiar notes of vanilla and light toffee/caramel.
"An initial hit of sweetness, brown sugar and a little spicy pepper is overtaken by dry oaked flavour and a nice spiced heat. The finish is very smooth and long lasting."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

From all the good reviews I expected a little more if this rum. Very good rum don't get me wrong. Just would like a little bit more wow factor. I give this a step below the El Dorado 12 or RL Seale 10.
