Got a sample of this rum for free from RumX.
It’s a 23yo pot still rum distilled in 1998 continental aged in an ex-Rum barrel whereafter it’s bottled at cask strength in just 163 bottles at 52,7%.
The aromas is fruity and spicy with hints of esters, wood and vanilla.
In mouth and at the palate the aromas comes back as tastes but it’s also very soft and round with a certain sweetness.
The rather long finish is sweet, soft and round.
Overall a fruity, soft and round rum. Not a typical Long Pond.
Picture: My emptied sample with a poured glass.
