I am an Aussie but it doesn't make me like this rum. It's rubbish. Tastes like a cheap attempt at rum. Just nope
Really just don't. It is the national spirit but even that won't be enough to get you to enjoy this. I don't know why anyone would think an underproof rum was a good idea. Well actually I guess it means you can get more bottles from the same amount of rum because it's spread out a bit more. "Aged" in 20,000 litre stainless steel vats and it tastes like it. Only way to drink this is as a Black Rat (bundy and coke).
I'm Australian and grew up knowing rum as an awful drink. Now I discover its because the "Bundy" Marketing machine raised us on this hideous muck. Who knew, rum can be nice! But really, if it is all that is on offer in the sticky dusty hell-hole of a pub you are in, and you need to get hosed, then bury it in coke and / or ginger beer or concrete or something and have a sweet night.
Avoid at all costs. Somehow still awful even when mixed
Worst rum I ever tried, unbelievable it is bottled and sold to anyone. I got it as a gift from a friend and tried it and just can't believe how bad it is
Worst Rum I have ever tasted tried mixing with ginger beer couldn't get through a couple of sips, tasted like paint thinners with an overpowering chemical taste, I hope this is just a manufacturing problem but this was rubbish, sorry.
Atrocious. Tastes like cheap whiskey. Vile

Only ever tried captain morgan and coke before so I was expecting a nice vanilla coke flavor. Ordered a rum and coke and forget to specify which rum and she put this in it. I was like I guess I could try it. Got back to my table and had my first sip and it had some strong taste I did not find pleasant. Couldn't work out what the taste was but it was familiar. It did get a bit better as the alcohol mixed in. I would never get it again.

Being from Australia I wasn't expecting much but I was still disappointed.
