Brugal 1888

Velmi suchý rum, u kterého mi nesedí dřevěný kouřový nádech. V chuti je cítit karamel, datle, med. Pokud se k němu vrátím za několik let, zřejmě ohodnotím jinak.

Une très bonne surprise avec un Rhum plutôt doux et sophistiqué.

This is a nice sipping rum. I find myself preferring Diplomatico Rum Reserva over this one, but plenty of folks will prefer this over Diplo. Try them both and find your every day rum. All-in-all, it’s a decent dram.

It has strong karamel flavour at the beginning with a nice woody finish. I like it

I had the luck of trying a really nice rum, 1888 Brugal. A bit sweet, a bit burn and a nice aftertaste. This was right down my alley.

Super choice for non-sweet rum lovers. Beautiful color, nice aroma, premium bottle and most important - excelent taste.

This rum is outstanding, smooth carmel taste and finish. This might be my new favorite.

A slightly smoky smell. At first the taste seemed somewhat empty, later it seemed more complex. Rather disappointed at this price (over 50€). I like the taste but it's too dry for me. If you plan to try different things during the evening, leave the last batch. Its dryness later hides the taste of other rums.

Not my style, quite fruity. It has a character. Did not enjoy sipping it.

This is a dry rum, with very interesting fruity notes. This is not the smoothest of rums, but the sherry cask ageing comes through strongly. Interestingly, in a blind tasting I would have guessed it was a port cask finish as it is fruity, but not sweet. I can highly recommend this rum as it is something quite different.
