Not as mindblowingly, earthshatteringly perfect as the ECS releases, but the price is right. Prefer this over McCoy 12 year.

Smooth sipper. Nice caramel coloring, light on the nose. Wonderful combination of vanilla, caramel, oak, spices. Smooth finish. Very surprised and very glad I got to try this.

Color is very much like brandy. Aroma is sweet tobacco and leather with an undertone of alcohol vapor. Taste is not what I expected. It’s very “thin” and not overly sweet. Upfront flavor is bitter with some burn, vanilla tobacco, and leather. Personally, it’s a bit of a let down. Looking at the current rating (8.4), I compare it to things like Mount Gay XO, Kirk and Sweeney, or Papas Pilar even and it just doesn’t compete, especially for ~$50. On the upside, there’s a pleasant lingering aftertaste that I wish was there during the actual drink. Aroma - 7/10, actual taste - 5/10, and aftertaste 8/10. Each person is different of course and I full recognize that my rating could reflect my personal tastebuds

I bought this alongside the Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva, and was disappointed when the cool bottle and 13$ higher price tag at $57 didn't pan out into something I liked more.

While not bad by any means, this rum had quite a noticeable bite to it and very strong flavor. Some may like this, but to me it spoiled the enjoyment and needed some dilution. I may come back around to it as I grow my collection/experience more, but for now it's too stout for my enjoyment.

I’m a big fan of the 10 year old so was very eager to try this and I wasn’t disappointed. You get strong hints of fruit, coconut and a lot oak on the nose. The first sip is very complex with nuts and more fruit coming through. And even though it has a high ABV it goes down very easy. I will definitely add this my regular rotation!

There's not many rums I prefer on the rocks but this is one of them. Priced quite well for a rum of this quality. If you haven't had this one don't hesitate to purchase if you can find it.
