A. H. Riise Non Plus Ultra Very Rare

I was very excited tasting this one, but i expected more. There are better options for the money. Maybe second chance will get me.

Caramel and alcohol aroma, sweetness in the beginning, maybe decent almond taste.

Mycket söt och smakrik,len och ingen spritsmak. En snygg flaska.

Really smooth rum thats easy to drink. Has a strange vanilla ending, with unique tones I cannot compare to any other rum. Anyways, as long as I enjoyed it, I expected something more depending on the price.

Very sweet rum with many flavours that can be recognised.
Aroma of sugar cane and orange.
Taste with tones honey, caramel, licorice, chocolate with touch of oak dominated by taste of oranges.
It has long smooth finish
Too much added sugar. Little less sweetness would be nice

not too sweet but i expected a lttle bit more of it. Riise makes better rums which are not named very ultra rare. i must say the bottle is beautifuull and reuseable with other rums

En meget sød rom. Smagen er mest præget af vanilje appelsin og sherry.

Very, very, really very sweet, like a dissolved candy. Also the taste is like a dissolved caramel praline, with a one strange smell I cannot identify. Not bad at all, but definitely "other" than the rest of my cabinet.

Of course it is subjective matter, but very balanced taste, more to sweet one but not too much, long lasting, wonderful smell and consistency, great design of bottle. If you are more for sweet and do not care much about real rum I tell you try it. I assume that almost every beginner like it until he/she discover what is lost behind plenty of added sugar.

I really dont like Riise rums. But this one is actually drinkable. Still very sweet, but with more complex notes than the orange and sugar stuff, you usually get from Riise. But don't buy it, if you hate the other Riise rums.
