Blend of different marques including unaged and aged with caramel for color and flavor.
Nose: Cherry, very toffee heavy with toasted butter, ripe banana, some char also and of course esters but not nearly as much S&C
Palate: Toffee, toasted butter, char, some salt too, cherry, overripe banana with little heat and some burnt caramel bitterness too, light oak with some tannins and vanillin. Light acidic esters, semi sweet but very pleasantly so.
Finish: Goes down easily, leaves sweetness and some caramel, butter and char.
Decent mixing rum, not as interesting or flavourful as smith&cross which is more estery and fruity and pungent, this is more mellow, bit more of a mellower Guyanese pot still seasoned with esters so if that is of any interest to you then this is a good choice.

Pomerne tmavý rum dofaebeny karamelom. Vo vôni cítiť estery, karamel a prezreté banány. Chuť taká klasická Jamajka. Pomerne sladsia a nie extremne výrazná. U mňa to asi bude nový favorit do koktejlov. Cena za litrovku je taktiež plus.

it‘s from jamaica and it can‘t deny it… you feel the power but it‘s also well balanced. it‘s maybe not a beginner‘s rum with its 54,5% but it‘s not too alcoholic. maybe the only little criticism that i might be a little overcoloured… but all in all worth the money

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Pretty much a home run for the price. Nose is reasonably light on the funk scale (but no doubt it is Jamaican), accompanied by a fruit sweetness, oak, alcohol, hints of molasses and maple.
Even less funk on the palate, but it's there. It's nice and spicy up front, peppery, lightly sweet evolving into a well-balanced woody presentation accented by mild earth, citrus, pineapple, with solid oak, molasses, and a bit of clove in the medium finish. I am surprised at how nicely layered and reasonably complex this is given the relative youthfulness. Semi-dry, and not much heat for the ABV; goes down easily, and opens up nicely with time in the glass.
Worthy of experimentation (no pun intended) in mixed cocktails, great in the Jet Pilot - but also serves nicely as a sipper. For the price, I've got no complaints. Definitely recommend it.
