Nice smooth rum, much flavour. Almost like bourbon oak taste. Sweet sugarcane nose
Je serai difficilement objectif. Je l'ai découvert en fumant un Siglo VI et ce fut un sacré bon moment en compagnie d'un bon ami. Il faudrait le réessayer dans un autre contexte. Une sensation de bourbon agréable.
Coming from a person in their early 20's, this is a nice change of pace from Captain Morgan, with a nice price tag as well. One of my go to drinks when I'm at the liquor store
on first taste I almost thought I was sipping a smokey whiskey...agree with the bourbon comparisons...too good for anything but sipping
definitely a rum to change up the pace a bit. I get the bourbon conparisons and agree but also felt it had a nice flavour and played well with others in cocktails that called for Barbados rum.
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this. Dark, rich with great run attributes. A very good subtle sweetness.
This is a nice mixer. In the mouth when you try it neat it is is smoky, woody with citrus hints.
Mixed with cokeir gingebeer and you're onto a winner and the notes of the rum will compliment it well.
In reading some of the other reviews, I would have to agree that it does have a bit of an oakiness. A fairly clean rum but not a lot of body as compared to others.
Drinkable but XO is better value. Can drink straight up or mix.
This isn't a bad rum, but I just expected more. I didn't find any mention of aging years on the bottle or web, so, it may be produced much quicker then most anejo rums. I thought that the body would be fuller and have a much longer finish, two things that are important to me. Buy the Mount Gay Extra Old, it's worth the money. Now, maybe if they aged this as long...?
A nice balanced Bajan nose with a little extra spicy kick to it.
"Sipped the Black Barrel certainly gives some of the oaky notes of a bourbon but also makes the mouth water."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Bottle is modern style, clean. Color nice dark golden. Fruits and wood on the nose. Smoky oak, nuts and fruits on palate, notes of vanilla and toffee too. Quite dry for my usual taste of sweeter rums, but I still like it.
