This is my first bottle and I am very happy with it. I had a few tastings at a local restaurant and really enjoyed sipping on rum. After much research I decided to buy a bottle of mount gay xo, sadly I couldn't find a bottle but I came across this and it had good reviews and as far as I can tell they don't add sugar to sweeten it. I enjoy all the different flavors that each sip brings, even my wife likes it. Over all a good choice. Im looking forward to expanding my rum palate.
Big step up from the eclipse. Smooth sipper. Very much like the other good Barbados rums
Not usually a fan of oaky rums, but this one got me. Rather spicy aromas, which I like, and a middling body.
I would recommend against using this in mixers, as it's good enough to be drunk straight if you want.
Very nice dry rum, easy to drink. And a good value for money. I’d recommend it.
Another good one from Mount Gay
like the XO better but still a good
rum
Dry, spicy, woodI. I had it neat, I'm guessing it would be more enjoyable on the rocks. I don't recommend it unless selection is poor.
Another tasty rum. Smooth, with hints of vanilla and smoke. A great sipper. Recommended.
Currently this is my go-to as an all-around winner my cabinet can't be without.Versatile as a mixer or tolerable over ice, I'd rate it a 7.5 climbing toward 8 based on the price point and may actually prefer it to the XO.
Edit: This is no longer the bargain it used to be. At one time I could obtain 750ml for $27.99 regular price or $22.99 on sale. Now that it's gone up to $44.99 for the same product, I'll pass. It's not XO (which has also gone up substantially). As a result I've downgraded my rating to a 6.
A legyengése fantasztikus ,vibráló, melengető, hosszú, picit zöldbanános fűszeres !! Bravó
A nice balanced Bajan nose with a little extra spicy kick to it.
"Sipped the Black Barrel certainly gives some of the oaky notes of a bourbon but also makes the mouth water."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Bottled at 43% which is always a good thing for rum. Candy cola on the nose and palette. It opens up to a bit of lemon grass and smoke. The body is on the thin side which helps keep things bright. Finish is lingering and somewhat sweet but not a sugar bomb by any means.
Can’t go wrong with the Black Barrel in your tiki drinks either. I prefer this over the Black Seal or Plantation rums for mixing.
So it’s a sipper and a mixer at a great price!! That makes this a bit of a genius offering from one of the great rum brands out there. Solid
