Nose - Fruits with red wine and spices, thinner. Some flowers behind wich I dont recognize but its very weak floral scent. After leaving it in glass for a while, I can smell molasses.
Taste - Sweet warm fruits at first, followed by dark chocolate with spices. Hint of oak and something little bit bitter. For 120 proof very smooth, no burn. Good lasting finish. Interesting release. Its like slightly modified Doorlys 14y in my opinion. I am allways drinking neat.

Pretty heavy pot still influence. Delicious and complex like most Foursquare
Foursquare always deliver high class rum with no addictives. Diadem is another exceptionel (2008) edition.
High on alcohol, but you don’t feel 60% abv. The ex-bourbon and ex-madeira casks combines in a really balanced way, sweet (from the wood) and flavorfull (from high ABV) Tropical fruits and spices. Long aftertaste that stays on for minutes. Compared this side by side with Nobiliary and my personal opinion is that Nobiliary is slightly better.

Sublime 9 out of 10
The limited release Diadem from Foursquare is simply amazing. Typical of Foursquare products, it is pure aged rum with no additives. Ex bourbon cask, ex Madeira cask finish make this rum a top notch supper, despite the 60% ABV.
The initial is spicy, with strong hints of Vanilla, brown sugar and spice. It’s best to let this rum rest a bit or add an ice cube to open up the aromas and flavors.
The Madeira cask finish shines through and adds a sweetness that I really enjoy, without making it sickly sweet.
There’s a strong burn, as would be expected at 60%, but for some reason it’s not as harsh as say, the 2007 expression. VERY drinkable, and my new favorite FS rum.
The flavors are tingly pepper, vanilla, oak, brown sugar and some others I can’t identify. The sweetness lingers on the palate with a very long and satisfying molasses finish.
Truly exceptional.
