Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.

The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

Poured neat, it's very light on the nose with just a hint of buttery toffee and caramel. The first sip has a heavy mouthfeel with a warm flavor that travels from the middle of the tongue to the back of the throat. It leaves behind just a little heat, and flavors of rum and caramel apple. I like it best with just one ice cube with brings out a bit more of that caramel apple flavor that I could drink all night. This is a great sipper!

I'm often puzzled by complex descriptions of nose and initial palate etc. I like to keep it simple. It's the finish on your palate that dominates your obverse experience. The finish on this one is demerara sugar. It doesn't taste like rum. Even with coke, it still dominates. Super over rated. Wasted my money and would never buy again

The occasion is moree important than the rum itself. This is what I would describe the Plantation XO with. Relatively sweet with hints of vanilla and coconut and very easy to drink. Nothing spectacular but I enjoyed a good occasion and the rum nicely complimented that!

It is not sweet as I am used to, but very nice, smooth one :)

This rum will always have a home in my cabinet. Caramel and vanilla notes with the perfect amount of sweetness. If you haven’t tried this, get a bottle. You won’t be disappointed.

Very nice Caribian rum, with easy notes of vanilla

I could not really tell much difference between this and their Original Dark Dbl Aged rum at half the price.
A little longer on the pallet perhaps.
Nothing that makes me want to purchase again.

Absolutely amazing tastes and nose. I found this to be great to drink neat. I liked to leave it rest on my mouth and all these flavours just bounced out. And the aftertaste is just the same.

Beautiful taste, beautiful bottle. Beautiful experience

On a scale of 1 to 10, Plantation XO 20th Anniversary I would give it 8.5 for its rich flavors, smooth texture, and unique character imparted by the Cognac cask finish.
