Great quality, great flavor for a great price. In general, this is one of the rums that sets the standard for an aged rum in in the 5-8 year range. While there are better rums, this is one of the best price-to-quality ratios out there
Young, fresh with some fruits and even it's young it not taste as young. Plantation rums are specific, fruity, floral, light and most of them for a cheap price. This one is cheap and it's bargain. I would recommend it for everyone as fruity reference rum, enjoyable in both worlds - sipping or as a mixer.
This was probobly my first encounter with rum and I was hooked.
A really good balanced rhum for its price.
Light vanilla taste, well balanced with wooden notes.
For around $30 USD where I live, this is a killer deal. I keep a bottle on my bar at all times, with a backup down below. Yes, I use it primarily for mixing, but that doesnโt mean you canโt enjoy it neat too!
Nose: Some ethanol burn, quickly dissipates into semi-sweet vanilla and caramel with a hint of fruit.
Palate: Molasses, butterscotch, vanilla. Nice amount of oak character. Dig deeper and you find a hint of ripe banana and fresh fruit.
I bought a bottle for a vacation to mix whit it and I was amazed how good it is. We drank half of it neat.
It can be a little sweet for some people but i donโt think it is too sweet.
Very good value for money!
I will definitely buy more.
I can get this on the shelf at my liquor store for 20$ a bottle. For that price? What is beating this? Almost nothing.
Similar to grande reserve but more peppery and less vanilla. Also a bit smoother. Better for sipping but maybe not justified for mixing in comparisson.

For the price you can buy it blind. The reserva 2000 will have less strength but more flavor. The XO is one of my favorite by combining both strentgh and all flavors
