Príjemne sladká vôňa, chuť som očakával (na základe množstva recenzií) o dosť sladšiu. Za cenu okolo 30 eur je to určite dobrá voľba.
Decently priced. A more rounded upgrade of the Mantuano. Decent Sipper.

Tons and tons of brown sugar. So sweet in fact that it seems harsh and bitter, if that makes sense. As I went through the bottle, I enjoyed it more for sure. Oxidation seemed to balance it out more and cut that initial harshness
Great rum beautiful bottle usually under 35 a 750ml

Sweet and rich. Maybe a little too sweet for me. Great dark rum for cocktails. People tend to use stuff they wouldn’t normally drink by itself for cocktails; why!? Better ingredients in anything make the final product better- good rum = better cocktail.

I have a soft spot for this one even though it is very much on the sweet side. I like it and my wife loves it.
"The palate evokes chocolate sauce and the sweet toffee, fudge and tropical fruit flavours from the nose"
"The nose is dominated by notes of caramel, toffee and crème. On the back end of the aromas, I can detect a hint of smoke and pineapple"

Smells sweet. It is fruity, oranges, grapes and raisins with scents of chocolate and a sweet almost syrupy.
"The tasting notes on the site are very accurate vanilla, fudge/toffee sauce are noticeable as are notes of vanilla and a finish which is slightly bitter like cocoa which leaves a hit of oakiness on the taste buds. The finish is pretty short. ."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva tastes good, there's no doubt about that; however, everything has its price and in this case it's sugar. Lots and lots of it. A nice caramel/cocoa/fruity nose turns into an overwhelming sugary sweetness that drowns out all other flavors when you sip. You'll love it if you routinely steal candy from the box when no one is looking, and if you don't like very sweet liquids in your mouth, you'll definitely hate it. It's pretty high quality though, and the price isn't too bad. I'd recommend all rum lovers to give DRE a try, but I don't expect everyone to like it.
