Exceptional white rum. Coconut, coffee and vanilla notes. Coconut and chocolate taste with a light finish.

Sweet sugar aroma, smooth with subtle alcohol burning sensation and not so sweet finish.

This is a very interesting white rum ,with some of the complex flavours of amber like rums. It tingles the tongue at first but is smooth with a pleasant finish. At $45can it is an average price but,it is now unavailable in Ontario and Manitoba.

This is the only white rum I would sip, great for cocktails, makes great mojitos. Caramel notes although not as sweet as the Diplomatico Planas

I only drink this rum straight and am pleased with it. It has a creamy taste and mouth feel and upon swallowing you can taste sugar cane. There is a little burn, but nothing unmanageable. Overall a smooth clear rum that can be drunk neat or in a cocktail.

Pleasant smell of lightly fragrant pineapple (poured into a snifter). Mild and smooth flavor of banana cream, vanilla, toffee, and caramel. The mouthfeel has a wonderful warm velvet quality. I'd pour it into a snifter and drink it neat, or mix it with a good cola. Haven't tried it in a daiquiri, but I'd downplay the lime and sugar if I did. Tasty rum, good for when you want something delicate to sip on.

I'm not a big fan of the light rums, but this is one of the best I've had. This is one of the few light rums I've tried that I really enjoy straight. Light vanilla, sugarcane, and oak. Soooo smooth and creamy. VERY highly recommended if you like light rums!

Deze super premium rum uit Venezuela is blend van rums met een leeftijd van maximaal 6 jaren oud. Door de distillatie in koperen Potstills én een zuiving door middel van houtskool maakt deze rum uniek, zacht en vooral rijk van smaak. Geschiedenis Diplomatico
Eind de jaren 80’ was Don Juancho Nieto Melendez en zijn brandende passie voor het verkennen van de bronnen en processen zorgde eruit uiteindelijk voor zijn eigen verantwoordelijkheid voor de vele verleidelijke smaken van de traditionele dranken waaronder de rum.

Hij was vooral geïnteresseerd in ambachtelijke productiemethoden die ondanks relatief constant gehouden, waren kunnen opleveren uiteenlopende duidelijk verschillende resultaten .
Hij was gefascineerd door de subtiele complexiteit van de vele omgevingsfactoren die het rum -proces beïnvloeden , zoals het weer en de vochtigheid van de tropen. Een vakman in hart en nieren , Don Juancho was onvermoeibaar en zocht naar manieren om zijn eigen product te verfijnen door bemonstering van een uitputtende reeks van exotische likeuren en rum . In feite zijn zijn indrukwekkende verzameling drank heel beroemd geworden.
Don Juancho bestudeerde aandachtig de productie- methoden die in Jamaica , die op dat tijdstip de wereldstandaard was voor de vervaardiging en de waardering van rum.

Incredibly full bodied for a white rum, with much of the same sweet flavours that you might find in some of Diplimatico's other offerings but predictably lacking the depth of the aged rums and not as smooth. Only tried it straight but I imagine it would work well in a cocktail to replace the cheap white rum often used.
