Saint Lucia | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still
Chairman's Reserve rum is produced in St Lucia using continuous and pot stills. The rum from these stills are aged for 3-4 years separetly, then combined and aged for 6 more months to marry the flavors.
The first blend of Chairman’s Reserve was produced in 1999 by St. Lucia Distillers, which was founded in 1932, and overseen by the company's Chairman Laurie Barnard.

Another stunning rum from this great St Lucia distillery. Great sipper. Not as much depth as the 1931 but very smooth. Great character. Not sweet. Bite with balance. Great price for a rum of this quality and distinctive flavor. Beautiful long slow finish. MORE PLEASE!
$42CAD Smells sweet which is deceiving. Strong bourbon-ish oak flavours. The finish goes on and on with lots of light notes coming out- orange maybe? Alcohol burn is minimal which, at this price point, is a bonus. Not sweet, but tasty enough to enjoy as a sipper. The more I sip it, the more I like it, but still, I prefer a more exciting rum. I would compare to a Flor de Cana 12, albeit more interesting.
Nichts Außergewöhnliches, aber durchaus lecker und für den Preis vollkomnen in Ordnung.
Has that sharp flavour reminiscent of Jamaican rums. Banana leaf tones. Not my thing especially for the price. Much better flavoured rums out there for the price.
Not so strong but a delight all the same. I was impressed with its flavour and the vanilla aroma
Was worth the buy
Nose: floral, sweet, alcohol. No resin (it is good ). Maybe some vanilla.
Taste: the same rose and sweet, green apple, and smth else i cannot identify. Dont have spirit in your mouth, but strong enough.
Aftertaste: smooth and ... floral )) More apples and sweetness.. )
Základní rum, lehce aromatický, trochu ostrý a štiplavý, 5-6
Lovely mixer with cola is what I use this for, st lucia distillers never dissapoints me with all their offerings.
"sweet and fruity but has a bit of smokiness"
"Chairman's Reserve rum review by The Fat Rum Pirate"
It’s sweet and fruity but has a bit of smokiness to it as well.
"It can be sipped and it isn’t rough or harsh. There is a bit of an alcohol burn but even that is quite smoky and pleasant."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Having been to St Lucia twice, it ranks right up there with St Vincent and Dominica for being the most beautiful island in the Caribbean. I have finally found an affordable rum from this rugged island. Something also tells me that the molasses is sourced from Jamaica, but that is just my own hunch.
The aroma is of caramel and leather. The taste is similar to one of the funky Jamaican rums from Appleton Estate. The after taste is pure Jamaican funk. The burn is toned down a bit.
After breathing in the bottle for 10 days beyond the first test, the subdued funky Jamaican flavors are now even more subdued and replaced with the taste of butterscotch. Nutmeg is probably also in the mix as noticed by the strange feeling it gives after only two drinks, as well as morning after ill effects. After six months with about 75% of the bottle remaining, it retained it's initial taste, but the side effects caused me to pour the rest of the bottle down the drain and never want to buy this one again. This one started out as a 6 rating, then up to a 7, and now down to a 4.
Update May 26, 2021: Since I drove about 600 miles to get a couple of bottles of their 1931, I would say that I am a huge fan of Chairman's rums from St.Lucia. I bought another bottle of this one today. My rating has jumped back up from a 4 to a 7. The taste is fantastic for this price. However, I have no right to inflict my own internal plumbing problems upon this great tasting rum. Therefore, my original rating of 6 jumps up one to a 7 where it rightfully belongs.
