My go to drink is always an aged rum neat and once in a while on the rocks. At less than $30 Kaniche XO is always my bargain brand when watching my pennies or if there are going to be heavy drinkers at my home who don't appreciate the really good stuff. A little sweet but nice and smooth with a great taste.

The title really gives the best explanation for anyone that has tasted those 2 rums. It's got some vegetal / tropical fruit quality that you normally get with the Jamaican and some honey and butterscotch character that I associate with the Barbados rum.

Very soft on the palate to boot!

I was expecting a harsher version of plantation xo. While it may have been that, it appeared darker with more influence from the oak. Still on the sweet side but balanced enough with just a little funk. Good for the price!

Elysium - where brooks and Ponds contains A.H.Riise......on the way, I am fond of tasting Kaniche XO. Sweet, smooth, with a little burning at the beginning, then sweet and mild, taste of milk chocolate and vanilla.

Gave this a shot based on some favorable reviews here. Nice presentation. First whiff some coconut , banana with a hint of orange. Taste: Sugarcane, vanilla, and a hint of coconut, a touch of oak and cognac -an excellent rum.
Highly recommend

Very smooth rum with a light amber appearance. Can taste the oak barrels which is a nice hint. It pairs excellent with a splash of coke and lime or just by itself on the rocks. I didn't try it in any other drinks but I feel that it would go well with your rum runners and such but I think the flavor by itself is good enough

Less syrupy sweet than I expected from some reviews here. Has a fruity and vanilla taste to it. Almost juicy flavor when u sip it just right. I wouldn't describe it as super oaky being that it says "double oaked". Good on the rocks for now. For me most of the flavor comes from the added sugar and it doesn't seem very aged. It does remind me of Plantation XO so if you like that then buy this too.
