If you ask me this is a liquor. I was in Cuba last week and every cigar shop we visited offered free tastes. It was a very sweet liquor in my book. I enjoyed the samples but could not see me drinking a full glass full. But when in Cuba try it all.

I do like sweet rums, but this is extreme, not preferred even good for the price

What ever tasting notes and finish it does have are completely squashed with sweetness.

A friend recommended this rum, but warned me that it's sweet. He was right... Too sweet for me.

Well, this is not my cup of rum. Objectively it is nice sweet elixir. There is a lot of sugar inside, which you can see from Legendarios viscosity. You can smell and taste raisins from it and maybe something like marzipan. The taste is very sweet and gentle. It doesnt burn at all and you cant smell almost any alcohol from it. If you like sweet elixirs, Legendario is good choice for you. If you like bitter drinks like I do, you should probably avoid it.
