My go-to for a mixer, especially with a cola. Uniquely fresh relative to your standard Bacardi/Malibu coconut add.
In Hawaii again. Tried 3 Kula offerings. This is the best of the 3. It doesn’t start well. The nose is not inviting. But the rum is ok. Thin and young but with one of the better coconut flavors out there. It would make a nice Pina colada if you are into that kind of thing.
The coconut flavor is there, but it’s light. No one would ever think of this or possibly agree, but it’s better if you add captain………………………..
You could possibly drink this straight but if you don’t know what you’re getting yourself in to, you could be let down. Once again, I wanna disclose that I did not pay for this…………
picked this up in Hawaii in part because my wife fell in love with the packaging. as coconut rum goes this was one of my favorites to date. not overly sweet and didn't taste artificial. Hard to ignore the price also.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Had the pleasure of touring the Hawaiian Sea Spirits distillery in Maui and got to chat up one of the owners while enjoying a sample of this flavored rum. It is flavored with real toasted coconuts grown just miles down the road - no artificial flavors here. Just fresh light rum married with local coconuts and colored with caramel. A definite heat from its youth but a fantastic mixing rum none the less. Forget about the sugar bomb, chemistry project coconut rums you are used to. Just shake with fresh pineapple juice and ice and you have an amazingly refreshing and easy drinking take on a pina colada
