Virgin Islands, U.S. | Spiced | 40% ABV
Sailor Jerry’s Spiced rum is crafted from a blend of Caribbean rums that are blended and infused with spices and other flavors including vanilla and cinnamon.
The rum is produced by Sailor Jerry Ltd., a company founded to honor the sailor-turned-tattoo artist, Norman “Sailor Jerry” Collins.

Slightly higher proof, slightly higher spice then its competition. It makes for a good, simple night.
Liten flaske
I remember first smelling this, it was like most people say; candy. Very sweet smell and very smooth. I enjoy it a lot in lighter situations like playing video games at night or hanging out with some close friends where top shelf quality isn't sought after.
And never really has been!
Can find it everywhere. Best mixed. Strong vanilla
A harsh, flavorless Spiced rum. Can't understand why people like it. Qualifies to me as well spirit.
In my opinion Sailor Jerry is just too sweet with an overpowering vanilla flavour and aroma
Good in mixed drinks as the unique variety of spice can be overwhelming for some straight up. Can overload a Cuba Libre!
I love me some Sailor Jerry it am curious to try some Old J to see how it used to taste. :)
New Look Bottle For Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum
"Sailor Jerry Spiced rum new bottle PR from The Floating Rum Shack"
The rum smells very sweet.
"It is initially very sweet on the tip of the tongue but it soon becomes very bitter."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

First off, my rating is based on the £15 it's frequently on offer for in the supermarkets, not the £20 RRP. At £20-25 you can do better, but for £15 this is my 'go to' spiced rum (Morgan's Spiced and the like do not come close). Taking cost/value out of the equation, this would get a lower score.
I tried this because it was the cheapest rum available at 'Spoons during my uni days, and it instantly became my favourite. Despite trying various rums since, this remains a staple of my drink cabinet.
Not a sipper, but if you want a smooth and fairly sweet spiced rum for mixing, this is a great option. The vanilla and cinnamon are not subtle, but the overall flavour is very smooth and more-ish.
Edit: I've recently switched to RedLeg over this. Smoother and I like the prominent ginger flavour.
