Sailor Jerry’s Spiced rum is crafted from a blend of Caribbean rums that are blended and infused with spices and other flavors including vanilla and cinnamon.
The rum is produced by Sailor Jerry Ltd., a company founded to honor the sailor-turned-tattoo artist, Norman “Sailor Jerry” Collins.

simply put the alcohol in this one hit me in the nose and the flavour really not my cup of rum

IMHO, it's the best of the spiced category and it makes terrific Cuba Libres. I haven't tried it in other cocktails because I'm afraid it will "overpower" them. The company Web site list a few ones and the "Jerry & Ginger Beer" looks good: http://sailorjerry.com/en/the-rum/cocktail-recipes/

An upgrade on captain if you are buying from a supermarket. However, there are better spiced rums at a similar price or in the case of rebellion, a lower price. Very sweet and lots of vanilla. Excellent as a mixer not for sipping

It's not terrible, but for as much praise as it gets I think it is overrated.
Really nice in mixtures, my favourite for daiquiri. Spices are well balanced and not overpowering the taste of alcohol. The only con for me is to much of the bitterness in finish.

Nice spiced rum, not for mixing, rather sweet.... Oldskool sailor jerry label makes it most suited for Rock'n Roll parties.... Tattoos, Rock'nRoll and Sailor Jerry makes me happy!

Never understood why is this rum so popular amongst young people, there are so many better spiced rums at same cost level...But also some worse ones to be objective.

Not over spiced with a taste of vanilla like many reviewers have stated. Not a bad sipping rum (on the rocks) but pricey on a beer budget.

Blind tasted and was quite pleased with it.
Fragrand nose of sweet spices, vanilla and butter. No alcool aromas.
The mouth shows vanila flavours too with a burnt smokey finish. Very linear in style and can be quite boring after 2 glasses but good value for money.
Get a glass on the rocks and then move to cocktails.
