Millonario Reserva Especial 15

I found this to be decent on the rocks but only in small quantities, very heavy on the brown sugar notes to me. As a mixer it was too sweet to mix with cola but made a very good dark n stormy. Would I buy again, probably not.

Jeg fandt den krydret. Ikke lige efter min smagt, men ikke en dårlig rom.

This bottle is very cool. No idea if it is traditional or not but looks very good on my shelf.

Very dark interesting colour.

This is the younger brother of one of my favourite rums (the Millonario XO) and you can taste similarities but it just doesn't quite hit the same heights.

Warm sugars on the nose.

Rich initial taste but fades into a chemically kind of ronseal finish.

A bit of spice on the finish.

This is pleasant enough to sip but I've nearly finished the bottle and I won't be buying another.

This is a concentrated rum potion, heavy and complex, layered and it changes a lot depending on your mood and the moment of sipping.
Definitely needs a bit of air and cool temperature, otherwise it can become unbalanced and gross.
There's also quite some sugar, but there is also acidity and balance inside, so, interesting... 6.5 pts.

can't put my finger on it really, it is one of those things you know, but can't say. it feels a bit artificial, but, can't say why. it's sweet, and a bit bitter, somewhere in the back, it has a bitter note like the one found in apricot kernel. it lasts like forever in your month, but it opens up to grass feel, fresh, uncut grass.
It is a lovely combination on paper, but I am not sure it gains the rum more than 6 stars.

No tak po par poharoch tohto moku, sa citim mierne opitô, ale čajove či baklažanové listy zhovaďuju tuto flašu takže by ste za nu nedali ani 2 eura jak za rum s plachetnicu ale ta chut, zadne koreni co mam rad ale je dobry citim tam tu vanilku a hlavne sladkost, ked mna nebude bolet tak mi to je jedno.

Množstvo pozitívnych hodnotení tohto peruánskeho 40% samorastu prelomilo moju zvedavosť, i keď 10-ročný brat ma pred časom moc neohúril. Niekto kritizuje atypický vzhľad opletanej fľaše, mne príde originálna. Vôňa je tajomná, zastretá, cítiť vanilku, karamel, možno prezreté ovocie (slivky?). Zato chuť je až nečakane sladká, quasi likér, mimo mojej obľúbenej škály. Je o dosť intenzívnejšia a plnšia ako u 10-ročného. Záver je takisto o dosť dlhší, po doznievaní ovocno-medových tónov nastupuje výrazná smoky-oaky dochuť. Rum je napriek svojej prenikavosti stále jemný. Nemôžem povedať, že by mi na ňom niečo špeciálne vadilo, no očakávania boli o dosť vyššie. Pre zmenu chuti je pri popíjaní obľúbených suchších rumov fajn, no pri cene na úrovni Plantation XO sa k nemu asi nebudem často vracať. Vhodnejší skôr pre ženy a príležitostných rumanov. Silných 6, hlavne kvôli vyššej cene, tento bol našťastie kúpený v akcii.

Very Nice Smooth rum

This rum is something. The favorite of my friends. But not quite for me. Though it's good sipper, it's too sweet for me (I find this problem with most Soleras I've tried)

Ce rhum péruvien distillé à partir de mélasse (rhum traditionnel) a été élevé en Solera, et a derrière lui 15 longue années d’affinage. La bouteille, se démarque visuellement en étant enveloppée d’une paille tressée à la main, la même que celle utilisée utilisée pour confectionner les célèbres chapeaux Panama.
Bien que très sucré, et donc facile d’accès, ce rhum possède un vrai caractère, il constitue donc une pièce intéressante dans la découverte du rhum pour le néophyte, ou complètera facilement la collection de l’amateur à la recherche d’un rhum original, témoignage de son terroir.
Nez : très chaleureux et riche, des notes de pruneaux, de caramel, de fruits confits.

Bouche : très doux, on retrouve rapidement les fruits confits, arrivent ensuite le toffee et un soupçon de note de café torréfié. Une bouche charmeuse, empreinte d’une vraie identité.

Finale : En rondeur, avec cette note de toffee persistante sur une belle longueur relevée par une pointe épicée.
