I have tasted 15 or so $100 dollar rums, and this is one of my top 3. Smooth, flavorful, no kick on the back end.
Attended a rum festival in Amsterdam which gave me the opportunity to try this rum. It tasted great but I am not sure if the difference in price compared to the 20 year is worth it. Maybe i drank to much so my taste was disturbed but for now I stick to the 20 year.
En ok sød rom - ikke videre interessant - men som sagt ok
Ron equilibrado, no esperaba que un ron de Costa Rica estuviera tan bueno, ron dulce excelente para tomarlo solo. Sin duda está en mi top ten!
Rich full flavour. Notes of fruit, vanilla, caramel and other. Really soft on tongue. Aftertaste stays mild. My first choice.
One of the best rums i've ever tried. Long smooth aftertaste, not to sweet, very pleasant to sip.
Dejlig. Smagfuld. Mange noter og varme som virkeligt slipper fri i munden
I bought this while passing thru Panama last year and was totally awestruck by it's smoothness, a little heavier and sweet for some but if you like a full bold flavour with incredible smoothness by this. The rep at the store tried to get me to buy the 30 year old but I didn't, have kicked myself ever since and have not seen either anywhere here in Canada. This is #1 in my collection.
Banane, Karamell, Früchte, sehr cremig, süß. Voller als der 20jährige.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

The first thing I noticed upon opening the bottle was the aroma. Fantastic! It gave hint of the sweet flavors contained therein. Upon sipping it I noticed it was a little more viscous than most rums. Then the flavors washed over the tongue. Maybe it is just me but there seem to be a bit of an orange zest to it along with kind of a vanilla flavor. Also definitely a strong burn which lasts a little while but nothing sudden and drastic. Definitely a very recommendable sipping rum. My one disappointment about it was the bottle. One would think that such a fine rum would be worthy of an equally fine and ornate bottle but the "seal" below the neck is just a cheap decal doing a poor imitation of a wax seal and the label is just plastic adhered with glue. At least there is a real cork and not a screw cap. [NOTE: Now if I could just lay my hands on a bottle of Ron Centenario 30-Year. Test the law of diminishing returns.]
