Originally named Bacardi Black, this rum is now called Bacardi Select. The recipe is the same, which consists of a blend of aged rums, charcoal-filtered once before resting for at least 4 years in American White Oak.

Really not into mixing Rum anymore. Reminds me of spring break fun.

Tried drinking this on the rocks at a wedding recently and just couldn't stomach it. Certainly made me appreciate my rum cabinet at home. Didn't try it in a mixer, but I couldn't recommend this rum to anyone.

I like this in my coke - a lot actually. The taste is good for that mix, but the sharpness of the alcohol is a bit too much for a double or triple in my opinion.

Sharp afterburn, a bitter coffee-chocolate taste or maybe its the added caramel.

In the beginning I didn't like it at all, but after two or three times I started to like this Black. Rating based on mix with a coke.

Bacardi Black is een donkere rum die minimaal 4 jaar gerijpt heeft in verschroeide eikenhouten vaten, door deze manier van rijping krijgt de rum zijn licht rokerige smaak en ontwikkeld hij zijn stevige karakter. Deze door de Maestros de Ron Bacardi zorgvuldig gemengde rum heeft een heerlijke zoete smaak van tropisch fruit, pruim, banaan, boterachtige karamel en vanille. Door zijn robuuste en intense smaak is deze rum uitermate geschikt om gemixt te drinken. Puur vind ik hem niet bijzonder.
