Bacardi 8 rum

Bacardi 8

United States | Aged | 40% ABV

Bacardi 8-Year is a blended rum, filtered using the Bacardi-pioneered charcoal filtering system and aged for eight years.

This rum was not released to the public until 1995, when the first limited edition Bacardi 8 was sold with a sherry oak finish in a Baccarat crystal decanter. Despite a price tag of $400 per bottle, the rum was hugely popular and led to the larger release of the blend without the collectors' features and price.

Surprisingly balanced and almost smooth. Smokey, but not too heavy. Remember drinking it after Zacapa XO, as a treat, and still got possitively impressed!

Buen sabor a madera y especies interesantes sin ser especiado. En el límite para beberse mezclado o solo

Bacardi rums are good for mixing and very cheap. They’re obviously not good for sipping. This particular Bacardi rum is the only one that can be sipped, if you don’t have high standars

Sampled at the Laka Lono Rum Club Tasting on 9/28/19. Pours a dark gold. A bit buttery to the mouthfeel. Easy on the palate. Velvety sweetness. Lots of honey and treacle. Delicious for the price point. This could be my foundations Bacardi for lots of tiki drinks that call for a PR rum.

No es malo, pero tampoco muy bueno para mi gusto, pero se toma bien.

A solid choice, really worth its money. Mostly use it in cocktails such as El Presidente than as a sipper.

Avast, ya swabs! Just 'cause this be an affordable rum don't mean she's to be used for cleanin' sword wounds! On the nose, she be sweet smellin' with more oak than anythin', but there also be caramel, or somethin' that smacks of savory, or buttery, or toasty... and much further in, there be esters like that of a banana who has seen the light of day a bit too much. On the tongue, she be not as sweet as she smells, but she be SMOOTH with very little burn goin' down the hatch! She be a bit of a spicy fiery wench, too, with a hint of fruit... maybe apricot? ...but just as you think you've tasted all she has to offer, she surprises ya with a truncheon of SCOTCH upside the head. Curse me for a lubber, I didn't see that comin'! Might she be a decent sipper? Aye. Might she be a good sipper for some of yer biscuit-eatin' pasty lubber friends? Aye!! If they plan on bein' a pirate, they need to embrace the rum! Either way, there be enough sugar in this to have ya three sheets to the wind in no time at all. Hide this from yer crew, mates! Say what you likes, but I be happy to be givin' THIS little lady my best straight 8... arrgh!

As I don't really enjoy any alcohol neat, I use my own rating system, taking into consideration (in addition to flavor) also the aroma, the look of the bottle and the color of the content. This is absolutely not the worst rum I've tasted neat. I've heard good things about this in cocktails (especially Tiki) so looking forward to trying that.

Nice color, a sweet vanilla and caramel tasting, the smell is pleasant. A good choice for sipping at this price range

The only time ive tasted a 8 Old barcadi rum. I didn’t believe it was one if theirs. But it gave me hope for their Company as a hole. It tastes Well for younger rum and has a few curvs.

Nem rossz, de van egy kis érdekes, talán mentás zamata, ami nálam ront az összképen. A "kommersz" Bacardiknál persze sokkal jobb, de azért a 10 éves az ennél klasszisokkal érdekesebb és finomabb.
