Bacardi 8 rum

Bacardi 8

United States | Aged | 40% ABV

Bacardi 8-Year is a blended rum, filtered using the Bacardi-pioneered charcoal filtering system and aged for eight years.

This rum was not released to the public until 1995, when the first limited edition Bacardi 8 was sold with a sherry oak finish in a Baccarat crystal decanter. Despite a price tag of $400 per bottle, the rum was hugely popular and led to the larger release of the blend without the collectors' features and price.

a decent sipper. A cheaper alternative to some of the pricier darks.

I was expecting more from this one. Still not a very good rum.. I don't know what all who give this rum a high rating have been drinking lately but this is nowhere near a decent rum. Hangover waiting to happen

I suppose I shouldn't have had my hopes up for a Bacardi

Very smooth and spicy like some of the top rated Puerto Rico rums here. Better than some of the mass production makes ranked higher. I guess it loses points for being Bacardi with a lot of people.

Considering how it's made and the price point it's probably one of the best values.

Picked this up in Duty Free a few years back in a lovely box with recommendations from the guy in the shop. It's not great at all.

While it not be to everyone's taste. I personally think this is one of the better rums out there.

Safe choice. Not bad, but I will not go to buy this again.

It’s ok , nothing more. Not much better than regular Bacardi.

This is a review of Bacardi 8 from the Bahamas. A recent purchase at one of the local state liquor outlets. The other outlet in town has the Puerto Rico made 8 which I have not sampled.
Sweet alcohol in the nose. Smooth with good warmth. Light/medium body. Not hot. Hints of fruit, caramel and vanilla. Quite a surprise to me as I would not have expected a Bacardi to be this good at this price range. For the money I'd recommend it as a good every day sipper and as a rum to mix in drinks asking for a fuller flavored rum. I'll get another bottle to put in the cabinet before they exhaust their stock of the Bahamas made product.

Even at 8 years still a bit rough. A wedge of lime balances it out nicely.

I would still advice to go for similar aged Havana, but still ok but or in my case nice gift .
