All great stories have an inspirational beginning, the same as Añejo has been for Ron Abuelo. It’s our youngest rum, both in age and spirit. Añejo is a fun and enjoyable first impression to our Panamanian rum making tradition. Where all the great stories begin.

Well, this is just rum, you can buy for low price and you wont be disapointed - fair play.
A fine young rum, but it's been heavily sweetened with added sugar. Downgraded from 7 to 5.
Por lo barato que es, es un buen ron.
Fuerte, con olor a alcohol y poca madera.
Genial para cuba libre (al estilo de Appleton)
Abuelo es buena marca, pero no esperes tanto de un ron de menos de $10
I bought this in a store where the only other choice was Brugal so I gave it a try. It's nothing to get excited about but what do you expect for less than 10€. With coke and ice it's quite OK.
Ani nedokážu říci proč přesně mi nechutná. Prostě tomu něco chybí.
Nice Abuelo entry level rum from Panama.
Smooth easy drinking but I prefer it with coke. Looking forward to taste the 12 years old one ...
Now that I've tasted more rums and bought a couple of bottle of this, I've downgraded my rating to 5. Maybe it deteriorates when exposed to air but this rum's flavor profile seems to change each time I drink it. Sometimes it tastes medicinal and other times it's fine. I've not found a mixer for this I like so I tend to drink it on the rocks with a splash of water.
Extremely cheap rum here (under 10 euro). For the price you get a sweetened, vanilla flavoured rum, not harsh, not complex. For me it makes a acceptable Cuba Libre with lot of lemon and Angostura Bitter, but it will still be sweet. Anyway good value for the little price.
This one didnt impress me, I was suprised that it have some smokey turf finish but it not something that I am looking in rums at all.
Final verdict:
No than you I will skip on that
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Ron Abuelo Anejo is a high-quality Panamanian spirit that, to my taste, represents a good starting point for a person acquiring an interest in rum. This iteration hints at rums in the upper echelon, and its humble price point, I think that's the best you can expect. The similarities to the Abuelo 7 Year are tangible, but not sufficient to stand on their own. It mixes best in drinks that want the rum to be "seen but not heard". Put this rum alongside it's older brother, and you have an excellent educational experience.
