Abuelo Gran Reserva 12-Year

Con la familia hicimos una cata ciega entre Abuelo Centuria, Quorhum, 12 anos abuelo y zacapa 23 anos.
Abuelo 12 quedo de tercero, bien pegado al centuria (segundo)... pero la verdad que muy cercanos los dos... pero la diferencia de precio es abismal.

I usually drink rum without icecubes but this one I do. It takes the edge of the sharpness and goes down gently. After the mild burn you will taste the oak flavour very nicely. It is not so syrupie (sorry dont know if it is correct english) and thick....

This rum smell better than it taste. Cetainly the alcohol will burn your nose a little bit but not too much. Once you sip it , it is quite smooth but too much caramel/wood oriented. Of course, this is my personal point of view.
However , I like sweet rum but this one is too sweet.

En lidt stærk alkohol duft efterfulgt af af noter af farin. Blød smag med karamel og brændt sukker. Lang eftersmag

Smell of vanilla and caramel, also a pronounced scent of the oak barrels. Quite well balanced, sweet and smooth with a long but really pleasant afterburn. Definetly I recommand it.

Duft: første tanke er masser af fad/træ og cigar.
Den dufter lidt sprittet og karamel. Der gemmer sig en snert af banan og vanilje.
Smag: frisk sød karamel. Fadnoterne træder tydeligt igennem. Fed og dejlig i munden. Eftersmagen ender i cola/kakao.

This rum has a great smell, always doubting if i should mix it or drink it with ice

This rum is easily acessible but also a good allrounder.
