Saint James American Barrel rum

Saint James American Barrel

Martinique | Agricole | 45.0% ABV | Column Still (1-4) Distilled

Saint James American Barrel rum is a rich amber-hued rum that has been aged for three years in charred American oak barrels, giving it a smooth, rich, and slightly smoky character. It has a distinct aroma of vanilla, caramel, and oak, which is followed by a palate of brown sugar, roasted nuts, and hints of spice. The mouthfeel is warm and full-bodied, with a long and satisfying finish. Overall, it is a well-balanced and versatile rum that can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or in cocktails.

Visited the Saint James Distillery while vacationing in Martinique. Bought a bottle of Saint James American Barrel from the distillery for EUR 16. Bright amber color. Nice bottle and label design. Dry Rhum Agricole flavors like grass and floral notes followed with very strong oak to the nose and palate. Strong burn at the end being so dry. Rhum Agricole lovers can easily add 2 points to my score.
