Pusser's British Navy Blue Label ABV40 3-Year rum

Pusser's British Navy Blue Label ABV40 3-Year

Virgin Islands, British | Aged | 40% ABV

The Great British Admiralty first served rum daily to its Royal Navy sailors over 300 years ago until the ration was abolished in 1970. In 1979 Charles Tobias bought the recipe rights, formed Pusser’s Ltd. in the British Virgin Islands, and for the first time made the rum it available for public consumption.

Pusser’s British Navy rum today is the same blend of five West Indian rums as the British Admiralty issued to sailors.

Known as the “single malt of rum” Pusser’s British Navy rum is pot stilled using a similar method as that for single malt scotches, and with no artificial flavors is 100% natural.

I never knew how good this Rum was until I began to taste the many inferior Rums that are available. This Rum is quite good neat with a splash of water . I enjoy this “classic Rum now more than I once did. The nose is subtle and I can note sugar, cinnamon and brown sugar. Taste is quite satisfying as it has a distinct rum flavor that is not overpowering. Finish is smooth with a late bite that disappears quickly. Again, this is a neat sipper which I wouldn’t waste on a mixer. I do like this Rum as an everyday spirit. It is a good rum for the price and better than most expensive rums.

I bought the 54% pussers and tuned it down with some drops of whater after it struck me in the face purely.
The dillution was healthy and the result is similar to seales 10. A very complex caramel, leather and oaky profile with a hint of vanilla. I like it a lot.

Benchmark Island Rum, great color, caramel notes without being sweet, great on the rocks or in a Painkiller

This was my first really good rum. A friend from England introduced me to it as they stopped the "Daily Tot" in the British Navy.

Pusser's the original navy rum. Very rich in flavour. My personal preference is to water it down with a teaspoon full of water just to take the edge off it.

Don't like it with Coke reminds me off captain Morgan yuchh!

Not my favorite, aged nice just has a different flavor profile. Will do in a pinch but not a go to spirit for me.
